    Vintage Pictorialist photo from 1892, by Sarony, a photo of the Polish-American actress Helena Modjeska. Printed by the NY Photogravure Company on thick cream paper with impressed plate marks. From the very rare early photography publication "Sun and Shade," with ties to Stieglitz. Beautiful portrait printed in rich sepia tones. Image measures 6" by 3 7/8", with total area of plate 12.5" by 9.25". In excellent condition save for some staple holes along side edge, which would frame out.
